R.A.D.D. Analysis

Requirement:

The blade should not deflect more than .035 inches at any point.

Analysis:

As the profile shape of the blade face is changed, the height of the cross-sectional area becomes a factor in the design process. Assuming that the blade should not deflect more than .035 inches. And, given the centroid of the rectangular and triangular sections, the minimum height (h) was calculated to be .76 inches.

Design:

The model had to be changed because of this. The trailing edge of the blade was made tangential to the built-up radius around the pivot pin. There is at least .76 in. of material along the blade, as a result
